Lowlands to 1500 m from Pakistan and India n to Kashmir e through e,s China to Japan n to Honshu, s through se Asia to Greater Sumba Islands, Sumbawa, Philippines and Taiwan. 
In Australia widespread and rare in the east, rare and local in west.
