Arid scrub, semi-desert. Lowlands in Israel, sw Arabia, se Egypt, Senegambia, c,e Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia. Non-breeding migrant in ne,se Kenya. Call is identical to that of the sedentary C. tristigma, although non-breeding migrants in the territory of tristigma are silent (D. A. Turner, pers. comm.). - -
